Kingdom released his album “Tears in the Club” two weeks ago and I suggest you take it for a spin. Especially if you’re into bass heavy sounds with hints from R&B, footwork and UK club music with a touch of melancholy.
The US producer (whose real name is Ezra Rubin) teamed up with several guest vocalists for his debut album. For example “Breathless” with Shacar and “Each and Every Day” featuring upcoming singer Najee Daniels.
The most pop-minded contributions come from SZA (who’s back with new material this year) and Syd (who just released her solo album) who sing on “Down 4 Whatever”, “What is Love” and “Nothin’” respectively.
Don’t forget to also check out his earlier work if you hadn’t yet, like the ‘Vertical XL’ EP from 2013 featuring “Bank Head” with Kelela.
