[:en]This week Shamir has released his funny new video for “Call It Off” in which he turns into a Muppet! This androgynous 19-year-old singer from Las Vegas released his first EP “Northtown” last year which already got him attention of Pitchfork and the likes. It seems like he’s singing in a falsetto voice, but that’s just his real voice actually. Combined with catchy electro-pop it creates a unique sound, think Hot Chip-like quirkyness. How that sounds? Deze 19-jarige androgyne zanger uit Las Vegas bracht vorig jaar zijn eerste EP genaamd “Northtown” uit, waardoor blogs als Pitchfork al aandacht aan hem besteedden. Het lijkt alsof hij in falsetto zingt, maar dat is gewoon zijn normale stem. Zijn stem gecombineerd met catchy electro-pop vormt een eigen geluid, denk aan Hot Chip qua eigenzinnigheid.
