Gabriel Garzón-Montano

Gabriel Garzón-Montano’s popularity got an enormous boost when Drake sampled “6 8” for his track “Jungle”. The Brooklyn-born singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist released his latest album (and major-label debut) Jardín earlier this year and its sound is a mixture of modern R&B, funk and ‘neo-soul’.

Gabriel grew up in a musical environment as his mom was a classically schooled singer. He started playing the violin at a young age, followed by the drums, guitar, keyboards and probably much more. Jardín perfectly combines organic sounding instruments with minimal electronic sounds. On of our favorite tracks is the groovy “The Game”.

He has toured with Lenny Kravitz, Glass Animals and labelmate Mayer Hawthorne. He will return to Bird in Rotterdam on Saturday 4 November.
